How can you know something that cannot be concretely proven?
Well, at least in one sense, you can’t. You can only observe the evidence at hand.
Let’s take a look at 1 Thessalonians 1.4-5a and the idea of the preponderance of evidence.
A real life faith is seen in the preponderance of evidence.
Father, remind us of the evidence of Your working to draw us, convince us, and convict us of our need for the new life only You can give.
I needed to hear this today. Busyness and life matters and, yes, the media, have distracted me from time spent in prayer and the Word. My behavior has provided evidence of this … loss of patience, less expressions of Christ’s love, etc. I feel if an outsider looked at my life to see if a “preponderance of evidence” points to active faith in a living God, it might be questionable. Thank you for this message. I need the Word and prayer TODAY.
