“Stirred, Not Shaken” – Part 1: What Do You Need?

In the brief letter we know as 2nd Peter, we see the counsel of the apostle who sees that the end of his race is near. Since he recognizes this may be his last encouragement to the believers that were so dear to his heart, he wants to be sure to urge them forward in their faith.

I took several weeks to walk through the book of 2nd Peter. I think Peter’s clear desire in this letter (as he was moved by the Spirit to write it) was that we, the readers, would be Stirred in our faith and not be Shaken by the circumstances surrounding us. Part 1 here is focused upon the first chunk of chapter 1 and it is focused on answering one pivotal question: “What do you need in order to grow in your faith?”
