This is just my second review of a book for children, but I want to recommend this one as a tool for adults who are leading kids through challenging things—particularly involving any kind of separation from loved ones.

Pete Scazerro’s pivotal work, Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, is an important course-corrective for a christian subculture that has, for the most part, entirely neglected (at times even maligned) the emotional aspect of our humanity—which is, of course, created in the image of God.

What I found in this work was a compassionate dose of encouragement from a fellow traveler on this journey. It is my privilege to offer it to you as well.
